We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening, 31 And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 Certainly We tried Solomon, and We cast upon his throne a mere body; then he repented. 34 He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower." 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 And We subjected to him the evil ones: every builder and diver. 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 We said: "This is Our gift, so give or withhold as you wish without reckoning." 39 He has a high position with Us and an excellent abode. 40
