Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
