T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
