۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 What, do we then not die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
