NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
