The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
