The Quake (Al-Zalzalah)
8 verses, revealed in Medina after Women (Al-Nesaa) before Iron (Al-Hadeed)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the earth is shaken by a terrible quake 1 and when the earth brings forth its burdens 2 And man enquires: "What has come over it?" 3 That day she will relate her chronicles, 4 for that her Lord has inspired her. 5 On that Day mankind shall issue in scatterings to see their deeds. 6 and whoso has done an atom's weight of good shall see it, 7 And whosoever has done even an atom's weight of evil will behold that. 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
