Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
