Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
