And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And every soul came, along with a herder and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
