The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 So those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
