Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
