The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. 24 Out of all of us has the Reminder been given to him alone? Rather, he is indeed an arrogant liar' 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient! 27 Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)." 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 We loosed against them a squall of pebbles except the folk of Lot; We delivered them at the dawn -- 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
