The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou enveloped! 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
