Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know all that you do: 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
