He it is Who sends down water from the cloud for you; it gives drink, and by it (grow) the trees upon which you pasture. 10 Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember. 13 And it is He Who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek His munificence and that you may give thanks. 14 And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves. 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 And those upon whom they call beside Allah have not created aught, and are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
