T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 "[And now] go thou unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity. 24
