It is He who gave you hearing, sight, and hearts, but only few of you give thanks. 78 It was He who scattered you on the earth, and before Him you shall be gathered. 79 And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand? 80 Nay, but they say the like of that which said the men of old; 81 They say: What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised? 82 "Verily, this we have been promised, we and our fathers before (us)! This is only the tales of the ancients!" 83 (Muhammad), say to them, "Tell me, if you know, to whom does the earth and its contents belong?" 84 They will say, God's.' Say: 'Will you not then remember?' 85 Say, "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and of the Glorious Throne?" 86 They will say, "[They belong] to Allah." Say, "Then will you not fear Him?" 87 Say "In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allah saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allah punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 12, Page 145] 88 They will surely say: God's. Say thou: how then are ye turned away? 89 Aye! We have brought them the truth and verily they are the liars. 90 Allah has not chosen any child, nor any other God along with Him – were it so, each God would have taken away its creation, and each one would certainly wish superiority over the other; Purity is to Allah above all the matters they fabricate. 91 The All Knowing, of every hidden and the visible – so Supremacy is to Him over their ascribing of partners (to Him). 92
