And a sign for them is the dead earth; We gave it life and We produced from it grain, so they eat from it. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 And [of Our sway over all that exists] they have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day - and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' -- 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
