The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and serried acacias, 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
