The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Issuing from the pelvis between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
