Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
