When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
