[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to [one of God's] message-hearers 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: fear ye not? 142 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 145 Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death], 146 amidst gardens and springs 147 sown fields, and palms with slender spathes? 148 And dwellings hewed out of mountains ingeniously? 149 Fear Allah and obey me 150 And obey not the command of the extravagant. 151 Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend." 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 "You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful." 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and then they became regretful: 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
