The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
