Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
