The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
