The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 The night a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
