Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him? 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 roaring over the hearts 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
