The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 who give charity, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
