Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
