The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! 9 Throw down your staff." When Moses saw his staff on the ground moving like a living creature, he stepped back and did not come forward again. The Lord said,"Moses, do not be afraid. Messengers do not become afraid in My presence". 10 “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) 11 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” 12 Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. 13 And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). 14
