Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
