Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
