The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
