The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
