The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the declining star, 1 Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, 2 Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 he was but two bows' length or even nearer, 9 So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. 10 The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. 11 So will you dispute with him over what he saw? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 At the farthest lote-tree; 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! 18 Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 Why - for yourselves [you would choose only] male offspring, whereas to Him [you assign] female: 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 What! Will man get whatever he dreams of? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25
