Thamud denied the warning 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 [and so,] behold, We let loose upon them a deadly tempest; and only Lot 's kinsfolk did We save at the break of dawn, 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 40
