The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
