And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
