In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
