The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
