He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
اضغط المثلثات الصغيرة في أعلى الإطار وأسفله إلى اليسار لعرض فهرس السور، حيث يمكنك الانتقال إلى أي سورة أو أية صفحة بداخلها.
Click or tap the small triangles above and below the frame on the right to display the Surah Table of Contents, where you can go to any Surah or any page within.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
