The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
