It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
