Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
