Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
