Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the sun and his morning brightness 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 And the day when it revealeth him, 3 And [by] the night when it covers it 4 And [by] the sky and He who constructed it 5 And by oath of the earth and by oath of Him Who spread it. 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 He who nourishes it will surely be successful, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 and He fears not the issue thereof. 15

God the Almighty always says the truth.
