The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
