Indeed for the pious, with their Lord, are Gardens of Serenity. 34 Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? 35 What has happened to you? How do you judge? 36 Or have ye a scripture wherein ye learn 37 that tells you to do whatever you want? 38 Or have ye oaths from Us reaching to the Day of Resurrection, that you shall be that which ye judge? 39 Ask them: "Which of you is able to vouch for this?" 40 Or is it that they have partners in worship? So they should bring their appointed partners, if they are truthful. 41 On the day when the Shin* will be exposed and they will be called to prostrate themselves, they will be unable. (Used as a metaphor) 42 downcast will be their eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them - seeing that they had been called upon [in vain] to prostrate themselves [before Him] while they were yet sound [and alive]. 43 So leave Me, (O Prophet), to deal with him who gives the lie to this Discourse. We shall draw them little by little (to their undoing) in a way that they will not know. 44 and I shall respite them -- assuredly My guile is sure. 45 Or is it that you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 46 Or have they (the knowledge of) the unseen, so that they write (it) down? 47 So wait with patience for the judgement of your Lord, and do not be like (Jonah) of the fish who called (to his Lord) when he was choked with anger. 48 Had not a Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been (left in the stomach of the fish, but We forgave him), so he was cast off on the naked shore, while he was to be blamed. 49 But his Lord chose him and placed him among the righteous. 50 And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad." 51 [Be patient:] for this is nought else but a reminder [from God] to all mankind. 52
